Nick Benjamin brings many and varied experiences to life.  Growing up in wonderful Pembrokeshire in West Wales with a reasonably average childhood, at 15 he joined the local Hospital Radio Station... presenting two shows a week and learning that he enjoyed showing off! (Actually... he was a very shy person until starting on the radio!)
Then moving on to 3 years learning Communications Management  at University, Nick worked for BBC CWR in Coventry as a Radio Production Assistant on the breakfast show.  Here he developed his own confidence skills but also how to get the best out of people.
After graduating, Nick worked for various companies in people development (staff training)... this included Seeboard Energy, Guardian Insurance, AXA Insurance, JD Williams / N Brown catalogue company, and Idis Pharma.  He trained people on all sorts of skills from computers systems, call centre management, through to time management and self presentation.
Alongside the corporate world ... Nick created and sold his own paintings.  Nick oil paints only with his fingers and no brushes.
The draw of broadcasting kept on returning... and 8 years ago Nick Benjamin and Andy Waterfield met and started work together under the brand of Two Voices Radio.  They worked together on a live weekly radio show for Radio Lab 97.1fm in Luton then started a regular podcast.   Nick's produces Speak Out Radio a monthly radio show with and for adults with learning disabilities.  As part of Two Voices Radio, Nick has hosted several live events including Hounslow Carnival, the Brentford Shout Out, Speak Out's Big Night Out from the Musical Museum, and numerous AGMs and training sessions.
Nick currently works (for the last 10 years) as Operational Director for learning disabilities & autism charity - Speak Out In Hounslow... supporting members to live a full and active life in their community.
Away from work... Nick is a polymath (and loves that word!).    He loves learning new things (one thing Youtube is good for!)  A whizz on a sewing machine turning out his own shirts, painting oil paintings with only his fingers and no brushes, broadcasting... and now new for 2024... he's giving book-binding a go!  You are never to old to learn... so turn off the TV and try something new!
